An off-white paper transfer tape for cut vinyl lettering and sign graphics. The paper temporarily carries a weeded design so separate letters and shapes keep their spacing while you position them, then peels back and leaves the vinyl on the surface.

Songyang paper transfer tape — sold in the trade as application tape, transfer paper or paper application tape — is a single-side paper tape used at the sign bench. Its adhesive face lifts a weeded vinyl design off the original liner; the paper then acts as a temporary carrier, holding letters, logos and shapes in their layout while the shop aligns them on glass, a sign panel or a vehicle panel. Once the graphic is squeegeed down, the paper folds back and lifts away, and the vinyl stays on the surface. Songyang has produced tapes and films at its own plant in Houjie, Dongguan, China since 1998 — 16 production lines, 5,000+ specifications — so sign shops and distributors buy this consumable factory-direct and specify the width, roll length and tack they actually use instead of accepting whatever a trading desk has on the shelf.
0.13 mm flexible paper that follows the vinyl through a squeegee pass without creasing at the edges, and folds back on itself when you peel it away.
Low, medium and high tack are all in production, so pickup and release can be matched to your vinyl, liner and graphic size rather than forced onto one grade.
Common slit widths of 100 mm and 200 mm suit narrow lettering work; other widths come off 1,250 mm master rolls to order.
The paper bridges the gaps between separate elements, so letters, dots and shapes move as one group and land in the layout you set up on the bench.
Songyang coats and slits paper transfer tape at its own plant in Houjie, Dongguan, Guangdong — the buyer deals with the production line, not with a trading desk that buys in finished rolls.
Ordering from Songyang's own plant removes the trading margin between buyer and production, and puts paper grade, adhesive and width questions straight to the people running the line.
Adhesive coating, curing, slitting and inspection run at the Dongguan plant across 16 production lines, so tack level, slit width and roll length are set to order rather than picked from a catalogue.
Base paper, adhesives and release agents are clustered around Dongguan, which shortens material lead time and supports sampling in 5–30 days.
Songyang ships to B2B buyers worldwide, supports EXW and FOB terms, and supplies commercial documentation with the goods.
Songyang is a China-based manufacturer (Dongguan, Guangdong) serving global B2B buyers directly — 9,000+ m² of plant, 16 production lines, 5,000+ specifications and 5,600+ customers served since 1998. Made in China, engineered for export.
Structural data for the standard paper grade. Values are typical figures — the final specification is confirmed against your vinyl, liner and application before an order is placed.

| Appearance | Off-white, thin and flexible paper |
| Adhesive | Pressure-sensitive adhesive, single side |
| Total thickness | 0.13 mm |
| Typical roll length | 100 m per roll |
| Master roll width | 1,250 mm |
| Common slit widths | 100 mm / 200 mm |
| Tack options | Low / medium / high |
| Application | Temporary carrier for weeded cut-vinyl graphics |
| Other sizes | Quoted on consultation |
Width is chosen against the artwork, not the roll: a 100 mm roll suits narrow lettering and small decals, while wider graphics need the 200 mm slit or a width slit to order. Peel adhesion, initial tack, core diameter and service temperature are not published for this grade — they are confirmed with Songyang's sales team against your application, rather than inferred from a catalogue.
Paper transfer tape is a one-shot consumable: it does its job between the liner and the final surface, then comes away. The sequence below is what happens at the bench, from weeding to the finished graphic.
The design is cut and weeded first, with the separate letters, dots and shapes left on their original release liner. The transfer tape then goes over the face of the vinyl, adhesive side down, and a squeegee works from the centre outward so the paper makes even contact across the whole graphic. Because the paper spans the gaps between elements, the artwork becomes one sheet: it can be lifted, turned over and repositioned without the letter spacing drifting.
Please note: paper transfer tape is a temporary carrier, not a laminating film and not a tape that stays on the finished sign.

| Tack Option | Selection Guidance |
|---|---|
| Low Tack | Include in sample trials when a lighter hold is needed — fine, close-set elements and delicate vinyl benefit from a paper that releases easily. |
| Medium Tack | The usual starting point for general sign lettering: enough pickup to lift a weeded design, and enough release to peel back without dragging the graphic. |
| High Tack | Include in trials when elements resist lifting off the liner, or when the artwork has large solid areas that need a firmer hold during positioning. |
These are selection guidelines, not a compatibility guarantee for a named vinyl brand. The three tack levels look the same on the roll, so order them by name and confirm the grade on the label — do not identify tack by appearance.
With the paper squeegeed down, the assembly is turned over and the vinyl's own release liner is peeled away at a low angle. The graphic stays stuck to the paper, held in its original spacing, and is now ready to be placed. The two liners must not be confused: the vinyl liner comes off before application, the paper comes off after the graphic is secured.

If a graphic lifts with the paper, lay the paper back down, squeegee again and continue peeling more slowly. Test the tack and the application method on a small area first.
Typical work is cut-vinyl lettering on glass and acrylic, sign panels and shop-front graphics, and local lettering or decals on vehicle doors and body panels. The paper keeps multi-element artwork aligned during the move, which matters most when a design has several separate pieces of different sizes. Full vehicle wraps, printed wraps and laminated film are outside this product's intended use.

| Consideration | Paper transfer tape | Clear film application tape |
|---|---|---|
| Visibility | Off-white; the design sits behind the paper | Transparent; the graphic is visible through the film |
| Positioning | Align to panel edges, marks or a template | Align the graphic directly through the film |
| Handling | Thin, flexible, folds back easily | Stiffer and more resistant to curling |
| Cost | Lower per roll | Higher per roll |
| Typical fit | Lettering, small decals and multi-piece layouts on flat panels | Detailed or multi-colour graphics that must be seen while aligning |
